Bihar's Jaiswal Criticizes Mamata Banerjee's Stance on Voter Revision Process

Bihar Industries Minister and state BJP President Dilip Kumar Jaiswal has launched a pointed critique of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in her state. Jaiswal, speaking after assuming his new ministerial role, urged Banerjee to emulate Bihar's successful and publicly backed conduct of the process.

Jaiswal emphasized that, in stark contrast to political friction, the SIR process was smoothly executed in Bihar, a state with over 6 crore voters. He asserted that the primary objective was to maintain an accurate voter list devoid of duplicate and ineligible entries, ensuring only legitimate voters remain.

Further questioning Banerjee's resistance, Jaiswal inquired if her opposition implied a preference for non-citizens being allowed to vote. As he prepares to focus on bolstering Bihar's industrial sector, Jaiswal highlighted employment generation and expedited industrial clearances as the government's key priorities.
