Islampur Police Nab 13 in Char Gopalpur: Illegal Stay Surfaces

In a significant operation on Friday, Islampur Police apprehended 12 Bangladeshi nationals along with one Indian citizen in Char Gopalpur village under the Hurshi Gram Panchayat. The arrests were executed following a confidential tip-off regarding unlawful sheltering of foreign nationals in the area.

Authorities identified the Indian national as Saber Ali, a 31-year-old accused of providing accommodation to the 12 Bangladeshi citizens. The individuals detained were identified as Md Awal, Abdul Khaleque, Suman Ali, Sukuddin, Khabir, Sahidul, Md Sabbir, Md Jiarul Houque, Majdar Ali, Md Khairul, Md Roni, and Ruhul Amin; none possessed the necessary travel documents for legal stay in India.

A case has been officially registered regarding this incident. The accused are to be presented before the Ld. ACJM, Lalbagh, on November 29, with a request for a 10-day custody of three individuals. The investigation remains active as officials delve deeper into the matter.
