Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Monday to engage in crucial discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron. The talks, part of heightened diplomatic efforts, focus on achieving a ceasefire in Ukraine's protracted war.
This visit follows productive talks between Ukrainian and US officials in Florida. Criticism of the US-authored peace plan, which some saw as biased toward Russian interests, has been prominent among Ukraine's European allies. Macron and Zelenskyy aimed to refine the framework to promote a fair and sustainable peace.
In a related move, Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to meet US envoy Steve Witkoff, amid reports that the latter advised Putin on pitching the peace plan to President Trump. Both Moscow and Washington have dismissed the report's impact.
