Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra declared that the party will stage a significant protest along with thousands of farmers during the winter session of the state legislature on December 9. This action is set to highlight the Congress government's alleged failures, particularly concerning farmers' issues and regional developments.
Vijayendra emphasized that despite previous discussions, a no-confidence motion against the ruling Siddaramaiah-led government has not been planned by opposition BJP and JD(S). Instead, they aim to focus on putting pressure on the government through strategic engagements and peaceful demonstrations.
The opposition coalition has pinpointed unresolved matters such as the procurement failures of critical crops like maize and sugarcane, delays in farmers' compensation, and corruption allegations. These will be focal points in their bid to awaken what they term an 'anti-farmer' administration through both assembly discourse and public rallies.
