A prayer meeting to honor the late Swaraj Kaushal, former governor of Mizoram, took place on Sunday. Kaushal passed away at 73 on December 4. The gathering saw a convergence of prominent figures from the judiciary and political circles, as well as family and friends, commemorating his significant contributions.
Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of Swaraj Kaushal, shared heartfelt memories of her father and her late mother, Sushma Swaraj, during the gathering. She expressed profound gratitude to the dignitaries who attended, including Supreme Court and high court judges, political leaders, relatives, and fellow advocates. In her words, their presence offered her strength to endure her father's untimely demise.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message was conveyed at the event, while union ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Arjun Meghwal, and Gajendra Shekhawat paid their respects. Other notable attendees included Mizoram Governor General V K Singh, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor, Chief Minister, and Assembly Speaker. MPs and leaders from various political parties also joined to pay homage.
