The Odisha Assembly's Winter Session concluded abruptly, terminating 18 days prior to its anticipated end date of December 31. Despite the initial plan for 29 sessions, the proceedings wrapped up after just 11 working days, as announced by Speaker Surama Padhy.
Government chief whip Saroj Kumar Pradhan moved a motion stating that no significant official business remained, prompting the early adjournment. The session featured notable highlights, including an unprecedented address by President Droupadi Murmu on November 27, marking her as the first President to address the Odisha Assembly.
During the condensed session, the assembly passed critical legislation, including the Supplementary Budget of Rs 17,440 crore, and several bills enhancing pensions and salaries for political figures. The session concluded with acknowledgments from key political leaders, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
