Twenty20, backed by textile company Kitex, has maintained control over two grama panchayats following the recent local elections. Despite this, the party faced losses in two other panchayats, showing a mixed outcome for the political outfit.
In Aikaranadu, the party made a clean sweep by winning all 16 wards, while it retained Kizhakkambalam by securing 14 out of 21 wards. However, it lost control in Mazhuvannoor and Kunnathunad panchayats to the UDF and other parties.
The political landscape saw Twenty20 securing nine wards in Thiruvaniyoor and making its first entry into the Thrikkakara municipality. Yet, their efforts in the Kochi Corporation were unsuccessful. Party leader Sabu Jacob remains committed to promoting corruption-free development initiatives.
