BJD President Suspends Two MLAs Over Anti-Party Activities

In a significant political move, BJD president Naveen Patnaik has suspended two party MLAs, Aravind Mohapatra and Sanatan Mahakud, over allegations of engaging in anti-party activities, according to an official statement released Thursday.

The suspension affects Mohapatra of the Patkura seat in Kendrapara district and Mahakud of Champua constituency in Kendojhar district. This decisive action was ratified by an order signed by Patnaik himself.

The suspension order has also been forwarded to the Assembly Speaker. The BJD currently holds 50 seats in the 147-member Odisha Assembly, making these suspensions notable as they impact the party's legislative strength.
