In a significant political development, former MP Jagmeet Singh Brar has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accompanied by key figures like Ripjit Singh Brar and Onkar Singh Sidhu. The joining was celebrated in the presence of leaders such as Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
The 67-year-old Jagmeet Brar, who earlier severed his long-standing ties with the Congress in 2015, has since been associated with various political fronts, including the Shiromani Akali Dal and Trinamool Congress. His recent shift to the BJP is seen as a strategic move, as BJP leaders expressed their determination to supplant the AAP administration in Punjab.
Amidst this transition, BJP leaders, including Punjab's chief Sunil Jakhar, emphasized the public's growing discontent with the AAP government. Accusations of a lack of security and unfulfilled promises under both Congress and AAP governance were highlighted, projecting confidence in BJP's leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to guide Punjab towards a stable future.
