The Shiv Sena-BJP coalition emerged victorious in the Thane civic elections, securing 50 out of 131 possible seats. The Shiv Sena, led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, claimed 33 victories, while its ally, the BJP, won 17, consolidating their dominance in the region.

In a surprising turn, the Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) captured five of the 15 seats it contested, marking a notable presence in the civic body. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) added seven wins to its tally despite contesting separately, outpacing its allies.

Meanwhile, opposition figures such as the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena and the Congress faced significant setbacks, managing to win only a single seat each. Independent candidates struggled as well, with only one securing a victory out of 174 contenders.
