The Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, has raised concerns over the state of governance in Jharkhand, claiming that the rule of law has deteriorated significantly. During a visit to Jamshedpur, Seth pointed to the disappearance of industrialist Devang Gandhi's son, Kairav, as evidence of the government's inefficiency in maintaining order.
Seth urged the Jharkhand government to draw inspiration from the governance strategies of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who have, in his opinion, succeeded in curbing crime effectively. The Minister lamented the daily occurrence of criminal activities in the state.
In a nod to recent police successes, Seth acknowledged the safe recovery of two kidnapped children in Ranchi. However, he criticized the police for allegedly protecting individuals embroiled in scams, pointing to an incident involving the gherao of an Enforcement Directorate officer.
