Maharashtra's municipal elections witnessed a sweeping victory for the Mahayuti alliance, as Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed gratitude to voters for endorsing the state government's development agenda. With a dominant performance in 29 municipal corporations, the alliance has laid a foundation for progress.
The Shiv Sena emerged victorious with 75 seats in Thane, significantly outperforming previous results. Their alliance partners, the BJP, secured 28 seats, while opposition parties, including the NCP and AIMIM, gained smaller victories. Shinde credited this victory to the coalition's efforts and their commitment to development.
Shinde emphasized the alliance's long-term goals, particularly in transforming Mumbai into a global financial metropolis, aligning with Prime Minister Modi's vision of making Mumbai a fintech hub.
