The Delhi High Court has rejected a petition filed by Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti, challenging the election of Bharatiya Janata Party's Satish Upadhyay from the Malviya Nagar constituency in the 2025 Assembly elections.

Announcing the decision on Saturday, Justice Jasmeet Singh stated, "The petition is dismissed," while the detailed judgment is yet to be released.

In the Assembly elections held in February last year, Upadhyay secured victory over Bharti with a substantial margin of 39,564 votes. Bharti's petition accused Upadhyay of engaging in corrupt practices under the Representation of the People Act and highlighted a pending criminal complaint or FIR against the BJP leader.
