High Stakes Decision: Israeli Minister Calls for U.S.-Led Coordination Centre Closure
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to close the U.S.-led Civil Military Coordination Centre. The centre, based in Kiryat Gat, supports Trump's plan to end the Gaza war. Smotrich claims it undermines Israeli security and suggests the removal of hostile countries like Egypt and Britain.
The Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has called for the closure of a U.S.-led Civil Military Coordination Centre (CMCC) that backs President Donald Trump's peace initiative to resolve the Gaza conflict. Smotrich made his plea to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, arguing that the centre undermines Israeli security.
The CMCC, established by Washington last October, involves over 60 countries working in conjunction with U.S. and Israeli officials on post-war plans for Gaza. Despite Smotrich's demands, neither the Israeli prime minister's office, the U.S. State Department, nor Central Command have commented on the issue.
Additionally, Smotrich criticized the inclusion of countries like Egypt and Britain, alleging their hostility toward Israel. He maintained that Hamas must disarm or face an Israeli military offensive. As per Trump's strategy, those committed to peaceful disarmament could receive amnesty.
