In a bid to resolve ongoing confusion in Jammu and Kashmir's governance, Congress MLA Tariq Hameed Karra stressed the need for finalized Business Rules. The announcement comes as political and administrative uncertainty continues to plague the region.
Speaking before the Budget Session, Karra emphasized that without these regulations, a tug of war between the Lieutenant Governor and the government would persist. The Congress, having taken a firm stance over the last 18 months, is keen to see these changes enacted.
The finalized rules, submitted by the previous Omar Abdullah government in early 2025 to streamline governance, aim to define roles within the administration. Karra reiterated the party's stance on restoring statehood, a move he believes is necessary for clarity and progress in the region's governance.
