Anant Kumar Singh, a notorious figure turned politician, was escorted back to the Bihar assembly under heavy security to be sworn in as a member of the legislative body. Singh, representing JD(U) in Mokama, was apprehended last year in connection with the murder of Dular Chand Yadav, a known adversary supporting Prashant Kishor's political outfit.

As he emerged from his akin to a prison procession, Singh was granted parole specifically for attending the official assembly oath-taking. After the formal proceedings, Singh paid respects to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, signaling a moment of political reconciliation, before being escorted back to the awaiting prison vehicle.

In a spontaneous chat with awaiting journalists, Singh, a former RJD affiliate, took the opportunity to launch a verbal attack on opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, claiming the latter's political declining influence, predicting he might need a new party to run in forthcoming elections.
