In a fiery statement on Thursday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of hiding behind Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Her allegations came after the speaker claimed he suggested Modi avoid the House to prevent an 'unexpected act' by Congress MPs.
Reacting strongly, Priyanka Gandhi labeled the assertion of a plot against the PM as a 'complete lie.' She argued there was no such plan and condemned the government for allegedly orchestrating the speaker's statements. She highlighted the absence of factual basis for the claims.
Priyanka also criticized the Prime Minister's reluctance to enter the House, attributing it to the presence of protesting women MPs. She called upon the media to challenge the government on its restriction of opposition voices, particularly on public source citation by the Leader of Opposition.
