In a significant development, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar expressed the collective desire of the Pawar family and NCP members to see Sunetra Pawar as the national president of the party. The announcement came amid mourning for Ajit Pawar, whose death on January 28 has cast a shadow over political discussions.
Rohit Pawar clarified that no formal talks about the proposed merger of NCP and NCP (SP) have taken place since Ajit's passing. 'We are in a period of mourning, and respecting Ajitdada's wishes is paramount,' he stated, indicating that conversations on political strategies will resume after February 9.
Addressing reporters, Rohit expressed dismay over speculations surrounding Ajit's death, enunciating plans to reveal detailed information post-mourning. The family is committed to honoring Ajit's legacy, with propositions for a museum celebrating his 40-year career under consideration.
