In a fiery statement on social media, Trinamool Congress leader Sushmita Dev accused Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of undermining the state's internal security. She alleges Sarma's remarks are disturbing peace, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's project launches in Assam.
Dev highlighted the alleged provocations by the Assam Chief Minister, drawing parallels to issues faced in Manipur. In a video message, she urged Prime Minister Modi not to offer mere lip service regarding the sensitivity of Northeastern states and to address the actions of Sarma that threaten internal security.
Alongside critiques, Dev referenced Modi's inauguration of various infrastructure projects worth over Rs 5,500 crore in Assam. These developments included a new bridge on the Brahmaputra River and an IIM, touted to propel the region's growth, amid ongoing political tension.
