Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) General Secretary Milind Parande on Monday vehemently denied allegations by Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge regarding the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) financial transparency and legal standing. Speaking with ANI, Parande criticized Kharge's statements as irresponsible attempts to undermine organizations he deemed patriotic, questioning their credibility.
These remarks came following Kharge's pointed inquiry into the sources of funds collected by the RSS and its extensive network of affiliates during a book launch in Bengaluru. Kharge alleged that money was being funneled from several countries, including the U.S. and the U.K., hinting at a significant money laundering scheme within the RSS's operations.
Kharge further claimed that explanations given about the RSS's financial resources were evasive and dramatized his stance by stating he would not relent until the RSS's status was formalized under constitutional law. He also censured current religious narratives, accusing leaders of manipulating sacred texts like the Ramayana for political ends, while RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was spotlighted for making socially charged statements without accountability.
