Kashmir saw a return to normalcy on Saturday as authorities lifted restrictions that had been in place all week following protests over the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Security measures, including barricades around Lal Chowk, were removed, allowing businesses and transport services to resume operations. Though mobile internet services were restored, educational institutions will remain closed until March 9.

The restrictions had been enforced after massive protests erupted in various parts of the valley, with demonstrators voicing anti-US and anti-Israel sentiments. While the protests were largely peaceful, minor clashes did occur, prompting security forces to intervene for law and order maintenance.
