As he prepared to board a helicopter on Saturday morning, Gandhi noticed the group of workers, prompting him to pause his transit.
Accompanied by Congress Members of Parliament K C Venugopal and Dean Kuriakose, Gandhi engaged in conversation with the women, learning about their wages and the tea-plucking process. The workers demonstrated the use of a tea-plucking machine, offering Gandhi insight into their daily tasks.
After the interaction, Gandhi captured moments with the workers through photographs. His brief stay at Peerumade on Friday night was followed by a departure to Thiruvananthapuram, where he was scheduled for various engagements.
