The TMC claims that discrepancies in Sinha's financial declarations were ignored by the returning officer overseeing the election process.

Sinha, a former president of the BJP's West Bengal unit, refuted these claims, asserting that his documentation was properly filed and compliant with electoral requirements. He accused the TMC of attempting to disqualify him on baseless grounds that were subsequently dismissed by election officials.

As the Rajya Sabha elections approach on March 16, TMC has urged the Election Commission to review the process that led to Sinha's nomination acceptance. They consider the scrutiny flawed and assert that additional information was inappropriately introduced under questionable circumstances.
