In a dramatic escalation of regional tensions, the United Arab Emirates reported successfully intercepting a barrage of Iranian missiles and drones on Sunday. According to the UAE's Defence Ministry, 16 ballistic missiles were neutralized, with a 17th missile landing in the sea.
In addition to the missiles, over 117 drones were launched, with the ministry confirming that most were intercepted. However, four of these drones did manage to fall within UAE territory, heightening concerns of further aggression.
As tensions mount, Iran's president has threatened to ramp up attacks on US targets, while the UAE remains poised to address any future threats firmly. The specific locations of Sunday's attacks were not disclosed in the Emirati statement.
