The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is poised for a significant political event as the party's 12th State Conference unfolds at Siruganur, situated along the Tiruchirappalli-Chennai National Highway. Spanning 400 acres, with an additional 200 acres allocated for vehicle parking, the conference is expected to draw a massive crowd of ten lakh people on Monday.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin will ceremonially hoist the party flag on a towering 110-foot flagpole at approximately 5:30 pm, marking the formal inauguration. Speculation swirls around Stalin's anticipated announcement of six major declarations for the state, as the conference echoes a similar precedent set before the 2021 Assembly elections at the same venue, where key promises were unveiled.
Amidst extensive preparations for the DMK conference, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is readying for a substantial public meeting in Trichy, to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 11. As the opposition gears up for upcoming electoral battles, Tamil Nadu's political landscape brims with anticipation, as actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) adds to the dynamic, making it a three-way contest of influence ahead of the 2026 polls.
