The Chhattisgarh assembly witnessed a tumultuous session as the Opposition Congress raised alarms over a purported scarcity of LPG cylinders impacting residents. The uproar ensued after a demand for discussion, led by Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant, was refused.

Mahant criticized the state for not adhering to its assurance of ample LPG availability, highlighting a price surge despite prior commitments. Senior BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar countered that LPG supply is a central matter, sparking debate over state responsibilities like black-marketing and hoarding, pointed out by Congress senior Bhupesh Baghel.

Amidst the clash, the assembly was briefly adjourned. Upon resumption, discussions were halted and 30 Congress MLAs faced temporary suspension for entering the well of the House in protest, later revoked. The incident underscores tensions and pressures on local leaders amid broader geopolitical issues affecting domestic supply chains.
