The Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) will hold elections on April 21, as announced by the Mizoram State Election Commission. Nineteen wards will see polling from 7 am to 5 pm.

State Election Commissioner H Lalthlangliana specified the election schedule. Repolling is slated for April 23, if needed, and the vote count will occur on April 27. Key dates include March 25 for submitting nomination papers and March 30 as the deadline for withdrawal.

Major parties are gearing up, with the Mizo National Front (MNF) having already announced its candidates. The Congress has introduced 13 contestants, while the ruling Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) will finalize its list by March 23. The electorate stands at over 2.39 lakh, with a significant number of female voters.
