In the wake of Assam MP Pradyut Bordoloi's defection to the BJP, his son Prateek has announced he will not vie for a Congress seat from Margherita in the upcoming assembly elections.
In a letter addressed to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Prateek declared his intention to uphold his connection to the party, despite withdrawing his candidacy. He emphasized maintaining his commitment to serving the Congress in any capacity deemed suitable by its leadership.
This decision follows Pradyut Bordoloi's departure from Congress after over five decades, and his subsequent alignment with the BJP, marking a significant shift in Assam's political landscape.
