On Thursday, Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) engaged in a second round of discussions with Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK regarding seat-sharing for the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Emanating from their meeting held at the DMK's headquarters, A Arunachalam, MNM's general secretary, revealed that a tentative proposal had been made by the DMK's election panel concerning the number of constituencies MNM might contest.
Discussions are still in progress to address emerging discrepancies, with MNM's ultimate goal being a successful alliance with the DMK. An emergency meeting chaired by Haasan is scheduled for March 20, calling for the participation of all district secretaries and committee members.
