Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has urged political parties to support an unopposed bypoll in Baramati. The call follows the tragic death of NCP president Ajit Pawar in a plane crash and aims to honor the state's political traditions.

Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar's wife and current Deputy Chief Minister, is the proposed candidate. Citing past political customs, Fadnavis highlighted the election of Suman Patil after R R Patil's death, encouraging a similar gesture for Sunetra.

Sunetra will file her nomination on April 6 for the Baramati bypoll. Despite the NCP not contesting, its ally, Congress, insists the poll will not go unchallenged. Amidst the political landscape, the call for unity remains strong.
