During a rally in Ballygunge, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP and Election Commission of conspiring to delete 27 lakh voter names in West Bengal's electoral rolls, urging support for the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Kejriwal argued this was part of a larger scheme to target citizenship documents.
Kejriwal further criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for deploying 3.5 lakh security personnel, questioning if Bengal residents were perceived as terrorists. He highlighted that BJP leadership was employing central agencies to victimize political adversaries, reflecting on his own experience being jailed on fabricated charges.
The rally emphasized the high stakes of the West Bengal Assembly polls as a 'litmus test' against BJP's supposed 'misgovernance.' Kejriwal implored the public to support TMC's Mamata Banerjee in fighting for citizenship rights and alleged Modi's government reneges on promises, calling Modi a 'peddler of falsehood.'
