Repolling was underway on Monday in Jepar village, Surendranagar district of Gujarat, after a technical glitch disrupted voting upon commencement in Sunday's local body elections, officials reported.

The malfunction affected both the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and ballot unit, compelling authorities to pause the voting process for district and taluka panchayat seats. Repolling started at 7 am and was scheduled to continue until 6 pm at Jepar Primary School, in polling stations 4 and 5.

State Election Commission secretary Rajdevsinh Gohil confirmed that Jepar village was the sole venue for repolling, underscoring the glitch's isolated nature amidst widespread electoral activities across Gujarat's municipal and panchayat domains.
