Telangana Rakshana Sena: A New Political Force Emerges

The Election Commission has officially approved 'Telangana Rakshana Sena' as the name for the new political party initiated by K Kavitha, daughter of ex-Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Kavitha announced the launch of Telangana Rakshana Sena, also known as TRS, expressing gratitude to the Election Commission for granting their third name choice out of five submitted options in January 2026.

During the launch event, Kavitha criticized the ruling Congress, BJP, and BRS, aiming to build a strong political presence in Telangana as her father had done before rebranding BRS for national ambitions.
