Union Minister for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, embarked on a three-day visit to Sikkim, aimed at assessing developmental progress and engaging with local leaders. Official sources reported that Rijiju held several meetings to review ongoing projects under the Minority Affairs Ministry.
Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by state minister Sonam Lama and other dignitaries at Rangpo. During his visit, Rijiju emphasized the significant infrastructure advancements witnessed in Sikkim over the last 12 years, particularly in road networks, rail connectivity, aviation, and digital access.
Rijiju described Sikkim as a 'small yet prosperous' state, noting its status as a model for balanced development. He expressed confidence that the state's enhanced connectivity will foster economic growth, ensuring Sikkim continues on its upward trajectory.
