Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, projected a significant win for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections during a press briefing. He credited the anticipated success to a surge in public trust towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration.
Rai expressed that the BJP was on track to secure governance, attributing this to past allegations against the incumbent Mamata Banerjee-led administration, including voter suppression and violence, which has now been mitigated by fair election oversight.
On the other side, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the BJP over alleged misinformation in exit polls, asserting the Trinamool Congress's confidence in achieving a sweeping victory. As the high-stakes electoral battle unfolds, both parties gear up for a decisive outcome on May 4.
