Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar is on the brink of a pivotal triumph in the Baramati assembly bypoll. Leading by a significant margin, she asked party workers and supporters to refrain from victory processions after the results are proclaimed.

Pawar dedicated the voters' faith to the legacy of her late husband, Ajit Pawar, who tragically died in a plane crash in January. The by-election, held on April 23, was triggered by his sudden demise. The late leader's wife is contesting her maiden assembly poll, buoyed by both a sympathy wave and her influential family's grip on the constituency.

Excluding any major party contenders against her, as per the Election Commission's recent updates, Sunetra Pawar has amassed 61,917 votes, with only one out of 22 rivals surpassing the 200-vote threshold. In a heartfelt social media post, she expressed gratitude to voters and emphasized adherence to her late husband's ideals, urging supporters to avoid celebrations.
