In a clear mandate against the CPI(M)-led LDF government, the Congress-led UDF has clinched a resounding victory in the Kerala Assembly elections. AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal declared this result as a public denouncement of what he termed as the 'arrogance', corruption, and nepotism prevalent under CM Pinarayi Vijayan's administration.
Venugopal, addressing a press conference, alleged that the LDF's continuation in power was hindered by a secret alliance with the BJP, intending to retain power for a third term. The Congress leader highlighted the perceived change in the public's sentiments and lauded the party's teamwork and grassroots mobilization efforts.
He attributed the unexpected UDF win to Rahul Gandhi's campaign promises, which focused on real issues, overshadowing what was described as 'false narratives'. The voting, concluded on Monday, saw the UDF surpassing the LDF, which was incumbent for two terms. The next Chief Minister's decision will follow after consultations within the party leadership.
