Himanta Biswa Sarma Secures Sixth Win in Jalukbari
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma won the Jalukbari constituency for the sixth time, defeating Congress's Bidisha Neog by 89,434 votes. Sarma's consistent victory streak began in 2001 and saw its highest victory margin in 2021 with 1,01,000 votes. His lead remained strong throughout the voting rounds.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma celebrated his sixth consecutive victory in the Jalukbari constituency, outperforming Congress candidate Bidisha Neog by 89,434 votes on Monday.
Sarma, who initially lost his first election in 1996, has been on a winning streak since 2001, reaching a record margin in 2021 with 1,01,000 votes when he assumed the chief minister role for the first time.
On this occasion, Sarma polled 1,27,151 votes against Neog's 37,717 by the 13th counting round, maintaining a strong lead from the start.
