In a surprising turn of events in Tamil Nadu's political arena, Girish Chodankar, AICC in-charge, has openly admitted the Congress party's controversial decision to align with DMK despite strong grassroots sentiments favoring TVK. This decision came in the face of a rising wave of support for the TVK led by Vijay.
Chodankar emphasized that strategic considerations within the INDIA bloc influenced the decision to maintain the long-standing alliance with DMK. Despite a remarkable performance by TVK, which won 108 seats, the Congress was left grappling with internal discontent as many party cadres and voters gravitated towards TVK.
Regardless of the internal challenges, the Congress remains committed to respecting the electorate's mandate. Chodankar confirmed updates to the Congress leadership, including Rahul Gandhi, with assurances that future strategies will align with the cultural and ideological interests of Tamil Nadu.
