Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar resigns from Rajya Sabha days after winning Baramati bypoll by a historic margin. Her victory follows the unfortunate death of her husband, Ajit Pawar. She had joined Rajya Sabha post a Lok Sabha defeat and was appointed Deputy CM post her husband's demise.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP president, Sunetra Pawar, has resigned from her Rajya Sabha position, just two days after achieving a record victory in the Baramati assembly bypoll.
Pawar submitted her resignation to Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan, as confirmed by her son, Parth Pawar, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP.
The Baramati by-election was held following the tragic death of her husband, Ajit Pawar. Sunetra Pawar secured a record margin of 2,18,034 votes. She joined Rajya Sabha in 2024 after her Lok Sabha defeat and took office as Deputy CM in January post her husband's plane crash.
