Vijay, founder of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has called a pivotal meeting with his party's newly-elected MLAs to deliberate on forming a government. This meeting follows TVK's failure to secure a simple majority in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
The TVK, which secured 108 seats in the recent elections, necessitates additional support to reach the 118-seat majority in the 234-member assembly. Congress has extended its support, offering five of its MLAs; however, the coalition still falls short.
As part of the agenda, Vijay, elected in two constituencies, must resign from one. The meeting will likely include the selection of the TVK's legislature party leader, according to party insiders.
