Assam's Chief Minister-designate, Himanta Biswa Sarma, is set to finalize his ministerial team. On Monday, Sarma confirmed that the names of incoming ministers would be determined after consultations with BJP national president Nitin Nabin, who is expected to arrive in Guwahati late in the evening.
The final list will be announced Tuesday morning, just hours ahead of the scheduled swearing-in ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other high-profile dignitaries are expected to attend the event. Sarma emphasized that discussions with Nabin would be in-person, rather than over the phone.
The new cabinet reflects the BJP's substantial victory in recent assembly elections, securing a two-thirds majority. The incoming government aims to begin its work swiftly, with routine governmental tasks set to commence on Wednesday, aligning with the party's electoral commitments.
