As the suspense lingers over the selection of Keralam's Chief Minister, CPI Rajya Sabha MP P Sandosh Kumar has publicly criticized the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) for their delay. Ten days post-election result announcement, the UDF's indecision has drawn sharp rebuke from political opponents.
P Sandosh Kumar accused the Congress of undermining the sentiments of Malayali voters, highlighting that other states have already appointed their Chief Ministers. "This delay has evolved into a mockery," Kumar expressed, echoing the frustrations of various political factions.
The Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, and Ramesh Chennithala remain key contenders for the chief ministerial role. As high-level discussions unfold in New Delhi, senior Congress member M Veerappa Moily has downplayed allegations of internal discord, defending the party's consultation-based approach to candidate selection.
