V D Satheesan Elected as Kerala Chief Minister-Designate
Kerala's Congress Legislature Party has unanimously elected V D Satheesan as its leader in the state's Assembly. The resolution came after the All India Congress Committee's announcement in support of Satheesan as the Chief Minister-designate. Senior party leaders backed the decision, despite some absences.

In a decisive move, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) of Kerala assembly unanimously selected V D Satheesan as its leader, confirming him as the state's chief minister-designate.
The resolution proposing Satheesan was introduced by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief, Sunny Joseph, and was seconded by senior member Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.
Despite his absence, senior leader Ramesh Chennithala supported the decision via a letter, aligning with the All India Congress Committee's announcement. CLP leaders are set to meet Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to submit the alliance's backing.
