V D Satheesan is taking a significant step as he prepares to become the Chief Minister of Kerala. On Thursday, he met with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to stake his claim to form the government. The meeting included KPCC chief Sunny Joseph and AICC state incharge Deepa Dasmunsi.
The meeting took place at the Lok Bhavan, where Satheesan, having been unanimously elected as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), presented the Governor with letters of support from coalition partners. Governor Arlekar congratulated the CM-designate, extending his best wishes.
Previously selected by the AICC, Satheesan is likely to formalize his role through an oath-taking ceremony anticipated on May 18, according to party sources.
