In a symbolic gesture marking the end of a historic election cycle, VD Satheesan, the newly elected Chief Minister of Keralam, visited his predecessor, Pinarayi Vijayan, at the latter's residence in Thiruvananthapuram. The meeting highlighted Satheesan's intent to maintain unity and foster continuance in governance.

Satheesan, representing the United Democratic Front (UDF), addressed the media, emphasizing the importance of sustaining developmental projects launched by previous administrations. Asserting the adverse impacts of discontinuity, he reassured a seamless transition to preserve Keralam's progress.

Highlighting fiscal challenges, Satheesan announced his commitment to cutting costs by minimizing security measures and curtailing governmental extravagance. Meeting with religious and community leaders, he reiterated his dedication to secularism and warned against divisive forces, calling his role a 'divine assignment.'
