V D Satheesan, Kerala's Chief Minister-designate, paid a visit to Cardinal Baselios Cleemis at the Bishop House on Sunday. This meeting is part of Satheesan's efforts to connect with influential figures after the AICC confirmed his role as the state's next chief minister.

The meeting witnessed courteous exchanges, with Cleemis, head of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, greeting Satheesan at the entrance. Their discussions, accompanied by tea, centered around anticipated state governance. Cleemis expressed confidence in Satheesan's respect for all communities and the pursuit of development-centric policies.

While minority issues were not discussed during this meeting, Cleemis conveyed the Church's support for the incoming government. The ceremonial swearing-in of Satheesan and his Cabinet is set for Monday in Thiruvananthapuram.
