Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy launched a scathing critique against the Congress-led government in Karnataka, accusing it of deceiving the public by raising fuel taxes to finance its ambitious guarantee schemes.

Speaking at the 'Janarondige Janata Dal' event in Mysuru, the JD(S) chief challenged Congress to reveal the frequency of tax and price hikes in recent years. He argued that Congress had exacerbated the economic pressures on citizens by increasing levies on various necessities.

Kumaraswamy further defended India's petrol rates, citing global tensions affecting oil supply, and criticized Congress for failing to foresee such international crises. He expressed confidence in JD(S)'s future electoral success and emphasized its commitment to supporting marginalized communities.
