CPI state secretary P Shanmugam expressed concerns that the resignations and subsequent affiliations reflect negatively on healthy political practices.

Shanmugam pinpointed potential repercussions for the MLAs, who face legal scrutiny for supporting TVK during a critical floor test. The swift induction of these legislators, including Maragatham Kumaravel, S Jayakumar, P Sathyabama, and Esakki Subaya, has stirred debate and could affect the ruling party's credibility, VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan warned.
