U.S. Lawmakers Advocate for Enhanced Missile Defense Support to Ukraine

Two U.S. Congress members have called for increased military support for Ukraine in response to a request from President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. This request comes as Russia threatens to escalate its attacks on Kyiv, prompting concerns about Ukraine's air defense capabilities.

Following a meeting with Zelenskiy, Senator Richard Blumenthal and Representative Jim Himes expressed their intention to push for additional Patriot missile systems and tougher sanctions against Russia. This move aims to strengthen Ukraine's defense against Russia's ballistic missile strikes.

The issue is further complicated by the U.S. involvement in the conflict with Iran, which has impacted resource allocation. As discussions intensify in Washington, the need for decisive action becomes more pressing to ensure adequate support reaches Ukraine.
